Some Of My New Goodies To Try

I was lucky enough to get a sneak peak at the warehouse of 2Wards Polymer Clay and it was shopping heaven.  Here's some of the bits I bought - yummy they are too!!!

2Wards Polymer Clay

Saturday afternoon at ACDC saw the launch of the new online polymer/art/craft supply store right here in the Midwest.  How awesome for us to have all these goodies so close to us.  The website will go live in a couple of weeks so keep checking.  Why not also check out their facebook page to keep up to date with what's happening.

Fun in the Sun

What a beautiful day in this beautiful city of ours.  Even better when you find an awesome shop with even "awesomer" clothes.  Christi and I went shopping - she did the trying on thing and I did the Richard Gere thing on the very comfy lounge.  Oh my gosh - what cool stuff we found.  We had two gorgeous ladies fussing around us which make it that much better.  What a great shopping experience!!

Christi is in West Oz - Woohoo!!!

It's been utterly awesome to have the effervescent Christi Friesen in Geraldton for a weekend of workshops.  We had over 50 students attend 4 workshops - a daunting feat in itself - but our incredible Christi took it all in her stride.  She is a teaching machine and soooooooo good at it.

Many beginners came along and were astounded with what they could create in this amazing medium we all love so much.

Here's some pics of the weekend (I started out very snap happy with the camera but unfortunately I got too busy and missed a few people - so sorry about that guys).

What a blast!!!

Studio Play Day

What an awesome play in the studio today.  Nothing of any great excitement to share but definately some things I want to explore more.  I was going to play with inks again today but ended up off on a little tangent which was quite nice.

Here's a few of the bits that ended up on my clay table today.

Playing with alcohol inks - this is where I started...

...ended up playing with all sorts of things totally unrelated to alcohol ink!!

Definately wanting to explore these a little futher...

and these....

AND this one....

finally made up some flowers which were created from various veneers.

Homeschool Kids - Mixed Media Canvas Art

What incredible fun we had in the studio on Friday.  I decided to get out all sorts of goodies for the kids to play around with.  We started with a clean canvas and used old game pieces, cord, buttons, beads etc to create our pictures (they were going to be abstract but somehow we ended up with pictures - love it!!).  We then used old tissue paper from dress patterns and covered the entire piece.  This is when we got creative and used paint, glitter, metallic wax, tyvek paper, utee, embossing powder, friendly plastic, glue gun, acrylic paint, melted organza and brass embellishments.  I think they turned out sensational.
