Silkscreens and Mylar Get Together!!

My recent play with silkscreens from Ilysa and Kyra (Polymer Clay TV) has had me totally captivated the last couple of days - couldn't think about anything else in fact!!  I decided to add a little something into the mix today and incorporated some Mylar into the pieces as well.  I really love how they turned out and hope you do too.  Thank you again, Ilysa and Kyra for your beautiful gift to me.

  1. I love the pink stones. What is Mylar?

  2. Thanks so much Monica. Mylar is a very thin irridescent paper that sticks beautifully to polymer clay in it's raw state. I've done another blog post on it showing how it's done. It's really cool stuff.

  3. Debbie, what is your preferred paint for silk-screening on polymer clay?

    1. Good question Kimberly, there are many. I've tried acrylics (different brands), metallics, lumieres's and they all work beautifully. I found one brand of very cheap black poster paint that didn't work - it washed off after baking but everything else seems to have stayed put. So I have lots of favourites actually :)
